A word of warning
Who you should buy and not buy from...
Most companies offering VIP Corporate Hospitality packages and tickets to events are legitimate, honorable and give a good service to their clients. However, over the past few years, with the growth of the internet and the ease of online booking, many companies and individuals have come unstuck and have not received the service expected or even sometimes the goods ordered and paid for. On many occasions these problems have been the result of deliberate scams which the police and Trading Standards are trying their best to clamp down on, yet they still carry on.
The following tips are provided in the hope that you do not find yourslef in this unfortunate situation and have the embarrassment or telling your invited guests, family or friends that the VIP packages or tickets you booked were not as ordered, or worse still will be not be forthcoming at all. Any of these scenarios are bad enough but on top of this is the possible loss of a great deal of future business from your invited customers who you have let down.
The industry is littered with tales of major international organizations and many others being let down over the years by supposedly honest and legitimate agents, brokers and people in the ticket game who still continue even today. There are some real horror stories out there. Don't you become one of them
If a website does not display a phone number or an address - DON'T USE THEM!
Why would a legitimate company not provide the basic details enabling you to talk to someone or go and visit them when you may need more information or when things go wrong' You should also avoid web sites with PO Box numbers which are untraceable. And don't buy from a company registered overseas for an event in the UK, as the they may not liable under UK law if things go wrong.
Always go for experience...
A company with many years' continous service in any industry will always be able to provide better expert knowledge of what is best for your particular requirements than any new kid on the block. An experienced events company will know all about the relevant facilities available at venues and can often negotiate better rates than you as they book on a regular basis throughout the year. They will also be the first to hear about any new facilities or events being planned which could be to your advantage when you're looking for that "something different" to invite clients to.
Why use a Corporate Hospitality agency...'
With their vast knowledge of the industry which could cover a wide range of suppliers and venues, Corporate Hospitality agents act as a one-stop source in providing a wide choice of events to attend to meet your particular criteria and budget. No matter if you require a VIP package to the theatre for just two people or an exclusive marquee for 200 at the British Grand Prix an experienced Corporate Hospitality Agent will be able to point you in the right direction and handle your enquiry all the way through to completion.
Agents handle the whole booking on your behalf and arrange to oversee the issuing of event documentation and attend the event itself, leaving you - the organiser or host - to look after and entertain your guests on the day. Agents often buy in stock to hold early on in the knowledge that it will be in high demand nearer the time of the event and when the actual venue itself has completely sold out.
Why our prices are sometimes more expensive...
On occasions, to enable us to obtain entertaining facilities and tickets at the most popular events, we have to pay over and above the normal price simply to secure them. This is certainly the case with 'just tickets' for events as organizations and people in general cut back on spending on complete VIP packages and book 'just tickets' to save on budgets. This has recently created a huge surge in demand for just tickets to concerts and theatres.
With tickets in particular we would, generally speaking, hope to obtain these for the most popular events when they go on sale to the general public. However, as we all know this is not always easy, as by the time you do get through online or over the phone they have sold out. Therefore we would look to buy most of our tickets from the public who were succesful but we would have to pay a premium to get them to agree to sell to us. We also buy from other people in the trade, from ticket agents and brokers, promoters, season ticket holders, debenture holders, players, musicians, sponsors, ex-players, managers, eBay and occasionally from visitors to our website. All these avenues for the supply of tickets demand a premium over and above the face value which pushes up the price. What determines the selling price is obviously the final cost we have to pay and the difficulty of obtaining the ticket, the market value, the general demand in the market place and the supply. Even when ticket prices are fixed at a particular time they will often fluctuate on a regualr basis (sometimes daily) based on supply and demand. This can sometimes also work in the buyers' favour as quite often 'ticket operatives' outside the larger concert venues such as Wembley Stadium and Hyde Park get left with hundreds of tickets and off-load them at a tenner each.
